Meet the team

  • Josh Parman - Founder and President, KDM Energy

    Josh Parman

    FOUNDER, PRESIDENT

Josh was built for this. He stepped into general construction in the late nineties, but the foundation was laid earlier, while in high school wrenching on bikes and tuning skis, finding his passion for hands-on craftsmanship that would shape the course of his entire career. He spent the next decade developing a unique understanding of luxury residential construction, spanning architectural design, building craft, and the forward thinking technologies that define Silicon Valley's most exquisite homes. He founded KDM Builders in 2010, building it steadily into one of the Bay Area's most trusted names in high-end residential construction, and then, recognizing that landmark estates deserved better than off-the-shelf systems cobbled together by separate vendors, made the decision to launch KDM Energy. Now he delivers both, craftsmanship and integration, structure and intelligence, as one.

His conviction is simple: every client deserves a personalized, customized solution. That belief shapes KDM Energy's mission to deliver energy systems as refined as the homes they power.

You'll know you're in good hands the moment you meet Josh. He brings the same precision to a client conversation that he brings to a build, listening carefully, asking the right questions, and taking the time to ensure nothing is overlooked. He's the kind of person who shows up fully, whether he's on a mountain peak volunteering with the Ski Patrol at Palisades Tahoe or pedaling through the endless peninsula miles on his road bike. He and his wife Mary are raising their two teenagers in Los Altos, living the same values he brings to every project.

  • Ben Hess - Co-Founder, Marketing and Operations, KDM Energy

Ben leverages a BA from Washington University in St. Louis to bring theatrical precision to product launches, sales execution, and brand development. A graduate of Redwood City's Community Teamwork program and the Terra.do Climate Change fellowship, he is now dedicated to amplifying solutions for energy autonomy and decarbonization.

After raising his kids in Half Moon Bay, Ben is now based in Mountain View with partner Kathryn and her daughters. He recently applied his professional focus on sustainability to a full-home electrification remodel, installing a mini-split heat pump HVAC, induction range, and high-efficiency water heating.

  • Juliet Chandler - Project Coordinator, KDM Energy

    Juliet Chandler

    PROJECT COORDINATOR

Juliet grew up around construction, so the language of a home, its bones, its details, its quiet potential, has always come naturally to her. Over the course of 20+ years in the industry, she developed a deep expertise working alongside some of the biggest builders in the business, absorbing the craft from the ground up and finding her true passion in the details that make a house feel like no one else's.

Her belief is straightforward: your home should be your place of peace. Juliet works closely with each client, taking the time to understand how they live and what they love, so that what gets built reflects them, not a template.

When she's not on a project, you'll find Juliet near the ocean or at home in San Jose with her husband Chris and their two boys, living exactly the kind of grounded, full life she helps her clients create for themselves.

  • Russel Brace - Account Management, KDM Energy

    Russell Brace

    ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

Russell has spent his career at the intersection of craft and conversation. He came up through custom fabrication and industrial design, spent years directing lighting for high-end automated homes, and somewhere along the way figured out that what he loves most is the moment a client's vision clicks into focus. That's where he lives now, at the front of the conversation, helping discerning homeowners understand what's possible before a single decision is made.

His instinct for people is as sharp as his technical fluency. Russell has spent enough time in the field to speak every language on a build, which means he never oversells, never oversimplifies, and never wastes your time. He asks the right questions because he already knows most of the answers.

You'll meet Russell first, and you'll be glad you did. He has the easy confidence of someone who has nothing to prove and the genuine warmth of someone who actually cares how this turns out for you. When he's not at the table with a client, he's somewhere out on a trail alone with a dirt bike and the open air, the kind of person who recharges in motion. Russell lives in San Francisco, and is the reason so many KDM clients feel at home before the project even begins.

Built with intention

KDM Energy didn't arrive fully formed. It was shaped through deliberate conversation, careful planning, and the kind of honest collaboration that only happens when the right people are in the room together.

Josh brought the vision, the construction depth, and three decades of hard-won client trust. Russell brought a rare combination of technical fluency and the natural instinct for people that turns a first conversation into a lasting relationship. Juliet brought the operational backbone, the organizational discipline that keeps every project moving with the same care and attention the client experienced on day one. Ben brought the blend of creative vision and strategic clarity that helped translate a compelling idea into a business built to last. And Mike Hodges, serving as executive advisor, brought the seasoned perspective of someone who has built and scaled businesses at the highest level, keeping the team honest, focused, and thinking long.

Together they asked the hard questions. What do the most discerning clients on the Peninsula actually need, and why has no one delivered it well? What does it look like to treat an energy system with the same seriousness as the architecture it serves? What would it mean to be the firm that landmark estates turn to not just once, but every time?

The answers shaped everything. The service model. The client experience. The belief that solar, storage, power generation, EV infrastructure, geothermal HVAC, and whole-home automation belong under one roof, delivered by one team, with one standard of excellence.

KDM Energy is the result of that work. And they are just getting started.
